Privacy policy

What USTOOLS ONLINE collects, how advertising partners use cookies, and the rights you have over your data.

Who we are

USTOOLS ONLINE operates this website and the free tools on it. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the site. Questions can be sent through our contact page.

Your documents and files

Files processed by our browser-based tools are never transmitted. They are read into memory in your tab, processed on your device, and discarded when you clear the queue or close the page. We have no copy and no ability to obtain one.

Where a tool is explicitly backed by an external processing provider, the page says so before you run it, and the file is transmitted to that provider under its own terms.

Information we collect

We keep collection to the minimum needed to run and fund a free site:

  • Technical request data — IP address, browser type and referring page, processed by our hosting provider for security and abuse prevention.
  • Aggregate usage — which pages and tools are opened, with no document contents and no attempt to identify you.
  • Preferences — your light or dark theme choice, stored locally in your browser.
  • Messages you send us — only the details you choose to include when contacting us.

Advertising, including Google AdSense

This site is funded by advertising and may display ads served by Google, including Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.

Where consent is legally required, non-essential advertising cookies are only set after you agree, and you can withdraw consent at any time. See our cookie policy for the full list.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Because we hold no documents and no account data, most requests are satisfied by clearing your browser storage and adjusting your ad settings.

Residents of the EEA and UK may exercise rights under the GDPR; residents of California may exercise rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

Data retention and security

Aggregate usage data is retained only as long as it is useful for improving the site. The site is served over HTTPS, and because processing happens in your browser there is no document store to breach.

Changes to this policy

We update this page whenever our data practices or advertising partners change. Material changes will be noted at the top of the page.
